  National Programme on Control of Blindness

  NPCB

GOALs:

1        To reduce the prevalence of blindness from 1.49% to 0.3%

2        To establish infrastructure and efficiency levels in the program to be able to cater new cases of blindness each year to prevent backlog.

Objectives:

1. To establish eye care facilities for every 5 lac population.
2. To develop human resources for eye care services at all level in PHCs, CHCs, & DH.
3. To improve quality of service delivery.
4. To secure participation of civil societies and private sector.

Strategies:

            The four pronged strategy of the program is

Strengthening service delivery.

Developing human resources for eye care.

Promoting out reach activities and public awareness.

Developing institutional capacity.
