  National Programme on Control of Blindness

  NPCB

         

Reduction in the Prevalence of Blindness.

Objectives:
        
To reduce the backlog of Blindness by identifying and providing appropriate Eye Care facilities in every district.
        
To expand coverage of eye care facilities to the underserved areas.
        
To provide high quality eye care services to the affected population.
        
To develop institutional and health personnel capacity by providing support for equipment, material and training.
        
To enhance community awareness in eye care.

1. Total no. of Cataract Surgery done                        -  5151

2. Total no. of IOL done                                              - 514

3. Total no. of Children examined                              -  10,384

4. Total no. of School Children with refractive error     -  2595

5 No of Children provided with glass                           -  9

6 Total No of Teacher Trained                                     - 20

7. Total no. of Minor Surgery                                     -  243

8. Total no. of Major Surgery                                      -  33

9. Total no of Refractive .Error detected                   -  6313

10. Total no. of Eye cases                                             -  24,794
