The Food Safety and Standard Act 2006, rules and regulations 2011 is being implemented in the State from 2012, with the following statutory authorities:-
1. State level:
a. Steering Committee headed by Chief Secretary 11 (Memebers)

C. Additional Food safety Commissioner - 01
2. District level:
a. Designated Officer(CMOs) - 11
b. Adjudicating Officer(DM&SJ) - 11
c. Food Safety Officer - 11
3. State Public Health Laboratory:
a. Food analyst - 01
b. Chemist/ other technical personnel - 13
4. Achievement made during 2016-17
a. Food business unit licensed - 338
b. Food business Operated FSSAI - 1,673
c. Number of samples collected/analysed - 83
d. Number of samples found adulterated - 10
e. Number of samples found sub-standard - 23
f. Number of Food establishment inspected - 244
g. Found unhygienic condition - 22
h. Improvement notice issued - 22
f. Revenue earned - 28,11,000/-
5 . Other Activities:
(a) Inspections of Hotels/ Restaurants/ Bakeries/ Canteens/ Tea Stalls/ Street Food Vendor in all the district headquarters.
(b) Participated in Hornbill Festival at Kisama.
(c) Attended during VVIPs. Visit to Nagaland at Airport and VIPs Guest House as Food Tester.
