a. Increase coverage of skilled care at birth for newborns in conjunction with maternal care.
b. Implement, a newborn and child health package of preventive, promotive and curative interventions using a comprehensive IMNCI approach.
c. Strengthen and augment existing services (care at birth/Essential new born /care, ARI and diarrhea control) in areas where IMNCI is yet to be implemented.
d. Implement the multiyear strategic plan for the UIP (Universal Immunization Program)
Approval for setting up of IMNCI Centres was received as per RoP 2010-11 for 5 district namely Kohima, Mokokchung, Dimapur, Phek& Mon. These centre have been made operational during 2011-12.
SNCU, 16 NBSUs and 87 NBCCs have been set up till date.
Referral transport assistance for critically sick infant with unit cost @ Rs. 500 per case has been released to all the districts.
Under Diarrhoea management the state had rolled out supplementation of Zinc tablet in addition to ORS in Diarrhoea in all the districts.
As per the approval of RoP 2011-12s the following had been procured and under process for delivery to health units.
